At least the N3DS accepts 64GB microSD cards which is what I use now. The only reason I use Gateway os for emuNand which nothing else supports on the N3DS for now.
True, I could just get a 64GB microSD card. That is, if I could find one that's cheap and available.

@LinkmstrYT Reading .3ds roms from sd wouldn't be impossible, Their would just need to be a Cart Read Redirection written so it looks for specific file names I.e .3ds and boot it, maybe one could even creat a .cia of it Kind of like how emulators look for .gba or w/e they are now a days lol, Its kind of like how gateway works with its red card: redirecting it to look at the micro sd for .3ds with a gui

Well, all I can do now is wait for something like that to come out. ;p

That's a bit of an oversimplification to be honest. The 3DS cart and SD don't talk anything alike, and the Gateway is designed to act like a 3DS cart with the FPGA doing all the heavy lifting on the SD/FAT side (I believe). I'm certain it's possible, but it won't be possible without a lot of painful Process9 work.

Yeah, I'm sure it would be a while before it can be done.

Although I've opened my 3DS so many times to remove the microSD card, the plastic holding one of the screws in broke and the other screw is barely holding on. Thanks Nintendo for not liking us Mac users.
Why didn't you just leave the screws unscrewed all the time?

How about leaving one screw in and let the other stay out?
That's what I'm stuck with now since one screw can no longer hold the back in (the plastic surrounding the screw broke.. What cheap chincy plastic they used. Why couldn't Nintendo just let the microSD card be external like the O3DS.

The immediate problem is the fact that it has to be DSiware or it won't boot (I've tried). That and the fact that every game expects an eeprom or similar for saving.

but doesn't the 3ds boot ds carts? then there must be a way to make it boot "roms" i guess. an eeprom could just be emulated like anything else. not saying it ain't complicated.

edit: looking back at this and some of your previous statements, you often make it sound as if it's impossible to do if you tried it but haven't succeeded yourself. it's a wrong thing to do since you might simply not have tried hard enough.

I know emuNand support on the N3DS is 9.5 for now, but I'll take it so I can get rid of Gateway since I don't use it to play 3DS roms. Once MSET is done, I won't have to carry around Cubic Ninja either.

Sorry if I missed it but Pasta supports emuNAND on the N3DS now??

Man 9.5 is good enough for me because I can use amiibo again. Where does it say there's emunand support? Or am I confusing what you are saying?
