Ok so i am looking for a certain software that would lock certain partition with a password on my pc, i have files that i won't want others to see and i was wondering and looking for one but i can't seem to find one at all, ive used secret disk 1 but its using the gb of my main hard drive.

So what i am trying to say is that i need a software or something that would lock my partition with a password or even hide it from view until i unlock it with the password i have chosen.

you could always just make your porn folders hidden, and hide them in very hard-to-guess places.
like make the folders hidden, and put them in your itunes installation folder. or even more perverse, putting them in your appdata folders, which are already hidden themselves.
just suggestions, i wouldn't know how to lock out entire partitions though.

would setting them to not automatically mount on startup be ok?
(that way, you can manually mount when you're feelin' feisty, and unmount when your mom needs to check her email)

You're male, this is the internet and you want to hide some files. You're 17 so NOTHING you're doing should be so important that it needs to be hidden from other people's view. IF you were older and looking for how to do this if it was something other than porn your company would likely have given you an encrypted laptop to do your work on.
Basically: 17 year old wants to hide files=porn! Just stream it in Firefox's private mode. No files hanging around then.

TrueCrypt. It's very trustworthy, multi-platform and free. It's pretty incredible.

you should know that that you need to do some reading to figure out the different ways you can encrypt your data: to put it very briefly, you can encrypt an entire partition (which IIRC means you first have to format it), you can make an encrypted container file (like a big completely-encrypted zip file that you can mount as a partition) and you can encrypt an entire drive (so if the boot partition is on that drive, you would have to type every time the computer is turned on - however, the contents of the hard drive is completely undecryptable without the password!)

files are encrypted and decrypted on the fly

Software also exists to create virtual partitions within a drive that you need to open a special app (naturally with an encryption key) in order to see what's on that virtual partition. Without that app, the drive is mostly undetectable, and without the encryption key it's almost completely uncrackable. I discovered it with the external drive I got for my PS3.

I still say it's better to delete such files in the first place anyway.

This is what truecrypt can do (it has multiple methods of working). In addition, with truecrypt the file you use as the volume container is not detectable, nobody can prove that a certain file is a truecrypt volume.
