Partial free xbox live?

that's where the ''partial'' word comes in, you can link matches between a fairly ammount of players without need to pay, for me, it's all i want from live, so this saves me money.
It's not "Partial free xbox live" though. Xbox Live is a microsoft service. This is a tunneling system and is entirely seperate from Xbox live in every possible way. Xlink Kai has been around for years but if you're looking for online gaming, just pay for xbox live or get a PS3.

I didn't watch the video but I guess you're talking about the old XBox? I think Kai should be good enough, don't think old xbox games have as many people online as 360 games.

Well, I have Silver status atm (Going out to buy 1 year gold this weekend) but never turned to consider Kai. If you burn 2 fewer games a month, or buy 1 fewer game a year, you can afford gold live =/
Yeah, if you buy the yearly subscription it's only like $5 a month. Works out to around a single game anyway. Even though PS3 is free, with what XBOX LIVE offers you I'm much happier to pay.
My opinion of general xbox live users is fairly low even by most cynics standards, xlink kai is a minor technical hurdle which seems to stop most in their tracks.
Of course I have seen several xbox live threads around here so that can be sorted that way I guess.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better. -

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
