Hi guys... maybe you'll know more about this hardware issue than me...

I have an old Flash Advance 256M card that uses a Parallel port cradle to transfer games. However, most new laptops do not have Parallel ports...

I have seen several Parallel port to USB cables and I was wondering if anyone has tried using one of these cables to transfer games to their carts.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

P25 to USB adapters create the port through simulation and only have access to the port indirectly. The drivers access the actual hardware directly and does what is called a possesive lock at all times during use, something USB protocol doesn't allow. Because of this, you will need a motherboard with a P25 port.

Either that or try and get your hands on the usb transfer cable instead.

Thanks for the feedback. Do you know which USB linkers would be compatible with Flash Advance 256M?

I would love to use the NDS solution but I have a DSi... I will probably just order the linker and cut out the middle man anyway
