I have used google translate before for various stuff... It is funny.
lame of you a least hes trying cmon asses if you dont like it them dont post
You clearly have never used Google Translate. It'll be a nice timesink until Magnius/WataruKun's or the official translation is out, but it is guaranteed to be utterly silly.

I've already used the google translate, but I prefer to try to understand something than to NOT understand. And I don't like trolling, if they not like the patch, just don't enter from this tread. If people want to play, why don't make one?

I have just had an idea to hopefully make things easier (sorry, if this has already been used or done):

Use the google translate tool to translate everything from Japanese to Spanish or another language which is easier to translate to and then to English.

Then, just tidy up the grammar and everything will be near perfect.

or... just refer to pokemon gold/silver and crystal for the original script.

it make take a while, but at least it will be worth it.

It doesn't get any better when you do that. When you go from Japanese to Spanish, you have the same problem when you go from Japanese to English. The grammer and words end up all fucked up.

Here is an example:

Code:
English (original):
Hello, my name is Lewis and I live in Colchester, England.

English -> Spanish:
Hola, mi nombre es Lewis y yo vivo en Colchester, Inglaterra.

Spanish -> Japanese:
?????????????????????????????????????

Japanese -> Spanish:
Hola, mi nombre es Luis y yo somos Colchester, que viven en el Reino Unido.

Spanish -> English (Final Translation):
Hello, my name is Luis and I are Colchester, who live in the UK.

I actually agree, this will definitly not work well or in other words:
"I have a bad feeling about this!".

Google translate gets funnier when you start trying to translate incomplete japanese sentences, japanese slangs, odd japanese sentence structures that differ from normal written ones, etc etc.

Ok... let's try using the original script from pokemon gold/silver and crystal:

Code:
Game Intro (English):
Oak: Hello! Sorry to keep you waiting! Welcome to the world of POKEMON!
My name is OAK. People call me the POKEMON PROF.

Oak: This world is inhabited by creatures that we call POKEMON.
People and POKEMON live together by supporting each other. Some people play with POKEMON, some battle with them.

But we don't know everything about POKEMON yet. There are still many mysteries to solve. That's why I study POKEMON every day.

Code:
Game Intro (English -> Spanish):
Roble: ¡Hola!

Code:
Game Intro (Spanish -> Japanese):
?????????????????????????????
?????????????????????????

????????????????????????????
?????????????????????????????????????????????

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Code:
Game Intro (Japanese -> Spanish):
Roble: ¡Hola! Seguir esperando! Bienvenido al mundo de Pokemon!
Mi nombre es roble. La gente me llama el profesor de Pokemon.

Roble: Esto se llama el mundo Pokémon que los seres humanos habitan.
Nos apoyamos mutuamente y convivir con la gente y Pokemon. Pokemon a algunas personas a jugar con ellos en la batalla.

Pero aún no sé sobre todos los Pokemon. Para resolver los muchos que todavía es un misterio. Es por eso que cada día de Pokemon.

Code:
Game Intro (Spanish -> English):
Oak: Hello! Keep waiting! Welcome to the world of Pokemon!
My name is oak. People call me the Pokemon Professor.

Oak: This is called the Pokémon world that humans inhabit.
We support each other and coexist with people and Pokemon. Pokemon some people to play with them in battle.

But still do not know about all the Pokemon. To resolve the many who still is a mystery. That's why every day of Pokemon.

Not bad, if i say so myself. I bet this is what the first translations were like when the original games came out.

Pokemon games were in Japanese first. The Japanese you are using does not necessarily mean it is the same as the game.
For one, I do not remember any kanji in HH/SS in the intro.
