Hacking PAL games safe to run on NTSC with Cfg_USB_Loader_48?

I have a few pal games (Disaster Day of Crisis) that I used to use GeckoOS to run by enabling region free mode. Now that I am using USBConf, I suspect I dont need to run GeckoOS and just boot it from the harddrive. Any specific settings I need to change is USBConf needed? Just dont wanna cause any damage.

System: 3.2U
