As many others, i had problems to get Other M working, so i scouted for some tips. Some dude recommended to run the game on IOS223, so i tried.
I changed to 223 (in USBLoader GX), started the game and the screen went black.
I reboot the console, start USBLoader GX again, but now no WBFS partition can be found. Same thing in WiiFlow, CFG USBLoader and WBFS Manager.
It seems to have disappeared totally, although CFG USBLoader says the partition is a FAT16.

So can anyone please give me some advice or ideas of what could be wrong?
Maybe i didn't have ios223 installed, but could select in anyhow?

Do a google search for "cIOS223[37]-v5.wad" you should find it in the first link, now just install that wad, and you shouldnt get the black screen.

Thanks ...but the black screen isn't really the issue right now. My loaders can't find ANY games. It can't find the partition at all.
WiiFlow says "WBFS_Open failed : -1". Non of the loaders, nor the WBFS Manager, can recognize the partition. I followed your advice tho, but it didn't help.

This same thing happened to me when I tried to get Monster Hunter Tri to work, and you're screwed, it deleted all the games off your HDD, so you have to re-download them. Have fun

Not true,

Wimms WBFS Tool can recover the WBFS Partition with all Games.
I Hope you have not installed a new Game after WBFS Crash.

Use Hermes v4 and the problem is gone.

Bye

Since i have another partition (NTFS) on the drive that i like to keep; what is the easiest way to re-format the "WBFS"-partition?

Thanks.

Update: It doesn't seem to work. I can't find the partition with Wimms WBFS Tool either.

Ok, now this has me worried. I have USB Loader GX set to use 222 (the latest version) because I recall reading that it has better compatibility. Am I better off just using 249 for everything except games that won't work without a Hermes IOS?

Haha, nice man, this made me laugh heartily.

and there really is no reason to using anything other than cIOS 222 for loading games.

I very much doubt that it was a fault of USB Loader GX since all it's doing is something akin to Daemon Tools, mounting it on a virtual drive and telling the wii to run it.

Sounds more like your hard drive is to blame, if you ask me.

Hope it helps. Don't use GX in future, try uLoader or CFG.

Thanks for the advice, but after i've read most of it, my left ear started to smoke, so f*ck it

I can't even find my WBFS partition or any WBFS data like most seems to be able to do.

So how is the best easiest way to make a clean re-format on that partition? (I have another NTSF partition on the same drive that i like to keep intact)
I've tried to format the partition with WBFS Manager, but i get; "an error occurred while attempting to format the drive."

I've been in the exact same place you're in, lol. I'll help you out the best I can.

Okay, I'll assume you're using windows - after every set of quotation marks, press return/enter...

- Download WIT: http://wit.wiimm.de/download/wit-v1.15a-r1554-cygwin.zip

- Extract it to the root of your C: drive

- Open Command Prompt (Run - cmd.exe)

- Navigate to C:\wit\bin
(Type "cd.." until you end up at "C:\>" Then type "cd wit" and then "cd bin")

- Type "wwt find -l"

- You should find your WBFS drive under a different name (/dev/***) There are a few of them so make sure it's the right one

- Type ""wwt analyze /dev/***" to analyse the drive.

It's hard to tell you exactly what to do without seeing screenshots of the above 2 steps.

If you can get that far and provide printscreens, then I can tell you where to go from there. These steps will help me detirmine which partition is your WBFS and which is your NTFS/FAT.

If you have any questions, just give me a shout, or ask on the WIT thread.

Format your partition in WBFS with Loader or Manager and use Wimms WBFS Tool.
Open Dos Window as Administrator and you can find the WBFS Partition.

wwt -a EDIT ACT=0-1000 --force

wwt F
(to find your partition name)

wwt repair /dev/sdc1
(sdc1 was my partition,your WBFS drive can have a different name,sdc2/sdc3 ...)

This problem exist on all USB Loader,is not only a GX Problem.Hermes Cios v5 has Problems with WBFS.

install hermes v4 or change WBFS to Fat32

bye
P.S. Sorry for my school english.

This is how far i got. The sdd1 is probably the correct partiton.
