Gaming original smash bros back up question

Hello, I have a LG 8161B DVD rom, I can back up most of my originals games, but it won't allow me to back up my smash bros disk. Get a message saying my DVD rom might be faulty. Every other wii games back up fine. Am I missing a step for this particular game?

Might be because this game is dual layered.
