Hacking order of games in G6's menu

Hi,
how can i reorder the game list in my G6's DS and GBA menus?
since G6 lists them as i install them but i want to reorder them thnx.

2-can i use windows to rename a rom? i want to add numbers to my roms, should i use one of those programs (which never worked for me) or i can rename them manually? TIA

I haven't used the program before, but I read you can use FatSort to re-order the game list.

I use Windows to rename roms manually before I put them on my flash cart so you should be fine doing that.

FatSort works fine for sorting the game list on the G6 Lite. I do it every time I add a new game to my cartridge.

I thought I remembered hearing that they were coming out with a firmware update for the G6 Lite that allowed you do to it through the G6 Lite menu, but then again, when was the last time we got an update?

Didn't they add sorting in 4.7?

Edit: They added sorting in 4.6d. Try touching "Name" or "Size" above the DS game list to sort by name or size. You'll probably still need to use fatsort to get the GBA games to show up in order.

Wow, thanks Destructobot! I thought I remembered them adding it to a firmware update at some point over the past few updates, but I don't think I ever thought to tap the "name" or "size" part of the menu to sort it. I always thought it would have been a separate thing on the menu, like the brightness settings. Thanks again.

Edit: It doesn't look like it saves the way you sort your games after you leave the G6 menu. It's not a big deal, but for a more permanent solution, use FatSort.

i'm scared of homebrew and everytime and everywhere i find fatsort, i'm scared of it being a bricker.

I never had any problem with FATSort except that it only works with FAT, not FAT32. I don't know what long name problem you're referring to.

how does it diffentiate between DS and GBA roms?

my primary intrest was to order the list as i want, not as alpahbet or aynthing.
i wanted to put castlevania on first, Chocob Tales on second and so on, i think i have to do it manually at last, or i have another choice?

Add numbers to the beginning of the filenames, then sort alphabetically.

Never. My first avatar was a toaster, then around Christmas everyone started using christmas related avatars, so I used Bender (from Futurama) dressed as Santa. I think that's all the avatars I've used here, though there may have been another random robot in there somewhere.

I think that hand is Juggernaut from Marvel comics BTW.
