To be honest, when it's properly combined, it can sound nice. Sadly though, that 22khz output and this muffled interpolation ruins it.

There are Donkey Kong sound restoration patches? I've only seen them for Final Fantasy IV, V and VI.

Never bothered looking for donkey kong patches tbh. I only played the snes versions
