On a whim I bought a few OLED-compatible chips titled, "Picofly OLED Lite V2 OLED V6 Chip OLED Mod Chip Suitable for Raspberry Pi DIY," from eBay (these same ones are on Ali too). 2/3 installs were flawless and worked great. The third was a disaster I wrote about here.

I'm curious if anyone else has been recommending this chip or if it's one that should be avoided. They seem well made, glitch almost immediately, and beside my one epic failure, I'm confused enough to see what everybody here thinks. Would love some opinions or recommendations!

Hello,

From my experience I haven't had any major issues with those specific chips but mostly with the cheap flex cables and dat0 adapters.

The rest of the issues I have were related to issues on my side. That said now I only install instinct V6, the overall build quality is way better

Hello

I had issues with two different v6s, it wasn't glitching every time it was flashing red when it failed. Replaced with V6 and no issues so I keep using V6. Maybe it was a bad batch or something but I don't do enough installations to be sure
