NINTENDO NEWS: NINTENDO TO RE-RELEASE ZELDA MASTERPIECE FOR WII

    Feb. 23, 2007

Every form of entertainment has its artistic pinnacles. On Monday, Nintendo will make The Legend of Zelda®: Ocarina of Time available for download in the Wii Shop Channel of the hot new Wii™ video game system. Originally released in November 1998 for the Nintendo 64® console, the game is widely considered by critics and industry observers to be one of the greatest video games of all time.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time inspired millions of players around the world with its in-depth game play, rich 3-D visuals and memorable adventures. It set the standard by which all other games have been judged. And now it’s available once again, both for veteran gamers to relive their gaming glory days and for younger players to discover it for the first time.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be available for 1,000 Wii Points™ when it goes live at 9 a.m. Pacific time on Feb. 26. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. The Wii Shop Channel now boasts more than 55 downloadable classic games, in addition to the dozens of new disc-based games available for Wii.

Yeah, it's definitely not a remake. Though, I'd really like to see OOT remade and updated!

    why?
most people already own this game at least once...it even came for free with The Wind Waker (including Master Quest, which IS different, unlike the VC release)

what's the point in paying another $10 for another release of this game?

I already bought it off the Wii Shop Channel. It's not a remake, it's just the n64 version.

Where on earth in that pre-release does it say remake??

I already have this game in three ways:
    1. N64 Cart
    2. GC disc (The bounusdisc for windwaker)
    3. GC disk (The coll. ed. disc with zelda 1,2, oot and majoras mask)

How many times does nintendo think one will buy the same game? xD
But for all you who don't have it (There may be one, maybe two) BUY IT!

I never owned a NES, SNES or N64, much like many Wii owners out there. So Virtual Console is great for me [IMG]

I've also got enough copies of the game, the only thing that'll make me buy it again is a complete remake of the graphics and controller scheme. Great game though, but don't buy it just for the cult value, only buy it if you're going to play it....
