Gaming OneChanbara will be a better zombie hack 'em up than Dead Rising W

I actually wrote this big article about why Onechanbara would be better, not only based on playing the Japanese version but also based on comparing both games features, flaws etc but my PC crashed and I lost it all! To lazy to write it all again <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

Anyway Onechanbara was great trashy, mindless stress relieving fun and the US version is said to have some improvements on it. It won't be the greatest game but I really enjoyed playing it and so did the Mrs on co-op mode. Will grab the US version, maybe buy it when it comes over here if the price is right.

Both are out next month, I hope Dead Rising will be better but I doubt it.

Did you even play Dead Rising on the 360?

I played the PS2 version of Oneechanbara (which was made as a budget game btw..so maybe they improved a lot but it doesn't look like it from the screenshots) It's just hacking zombies mindlessly with hardly any strategy. Like you said it's fun, but it gets boring very quickly. This game really doesn't deserve as much hype as it's getting.

Yes and I really enjoyed it, it completely pisses on OneChanbara Wii BUT the Wii version has had a lot of stuff cut from it for example the camera element which made the 360 game to be more than just a zombie killathon.

DR Wii is just about killing zombies, but sadly there doesn't seem to be that many zombies on one screen for the Wii version despite Capcom's promise that it will have at 100 zombies on the screen, something they have yet to prove.

DR Wii uses the RE4 engine which doesn't fit well with mindless zombie killings, you can't freaking jump in the Wii version and also the Wii version is gonna be a lot easier so it can fit well with the "casual" audience, who probably won't care for this game at all.

I dont know about DR:CTYD being the worse of the two. OneChanbara seems very repetitive with little more than button mashing or wrist waggling.

I've played a bit of OneChanbara Revolution on the Wii and its really fun in short sessions. When I play more than 2 chapters in a row it gets really repetitive but what other game has you playing as a hot girl slashing up zombies?

Well I never intend to play both of these games for a lengthy amount of time, but when I'm in the mood to relieve some stress by killing hoards of zombies, these will be the ones I turn to.

Judging from the 'Maintenance Tunnel' footage, it's quite impossible that Onechanbara would be worse than Dead Rising... though I'm saving my urges to destroy zombies to House of the Dead
