OK, so I haven't messed around with my Wii in quite a while. It's working fine with most games, so we play what we have.
I have a D2B w/ Cut Pins, like the one shown here:
    http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=53402&st=30

I modded as shown in that thread a couple of years back. (What a PITA)
The chip I have is a Wasabi. One of the first ones.
    My current update is 3.3U.

So I have a couple of questions:
    1. I have Tony Hawk Skate and DJ Hero sitting in boxes, since Christmas, but am afraid to open them up to play them, as they will require a software update. Is this a concern and if so, what steps should I take before I play them.
    2. Even if I didn't have those two hardware based games, what do I need to do to update my setup to player newer games?

    Thanks in advance,

    TJ

    Thanks for the quick reply.

This will allow me to play Skate and DJ Hero?

if you have a modchip, updates are not an issue, they won't block modchip from working.

also, 4.2 wii are softmoddable from scratch, so just in case, you can reinstall all your hacks back.

Weren't they at one time? (Updates being an issue) Or did I just imagine all that?
