You will probably have to update to B9S and the latest nightly of Luma3DS if you want to be able to update to 11.8.

i want a confirmation not a probably because i readed that some people think it could not affect old lumas because of not even using some boot patch that was included on bs9, now if it doesn't affect me then i dont need to go through hours of installs back and forth.

now if i could get a confirmation it would be good.

What's stopping you from making a NAND backup and trying yourself?

Updating to B9S is also highly recommended.

time it takes really, i hate complex hacks that's why i usually install something and let it be, heck i dont even have any emunands or anything i just used luma for cfw so i could run cias from gba, snes and such on home menu really.

also new 3ds having to take out the damn cover everytime i want to put and take out the micro sd card is a bummer.

If you aren't willing to put in the work to update and maintain a modded console, then you obviously don't need the perks of having it.

Updating from A9LH to B9S is five minutes. Literally. You take more time downloading files than doing the actual process, while also getting features and improvements. A9LH is obsolete, why would anyone stay on it?

No it won't work, old Luma lost fw support at 11.3 iirc. I also don't understand why you would want to stay on outdated hax, there is no benefit.
