a few things
first there is 1 version of luma (a9lh) that will work on 11.8 . . . and i dont know which version that is sorry . . .
second 11.9 is the latest why worry about 11.8
third you really should upgrade to b9s . . . it takes less than 5 minuets . . . honestly

Unless you find some forked version of Luma for a9lh, no. 11.8 and on changed some values, causing old Luma versions to not work and as only b9s versions are being supported/worked on by the main people behind it, there's no a9lh Luma that will work officially. So do as the other people said, go from a9lh to b9s, then update Luma and you are good.

Press and HOLD Start WHILE booting, don't press the power button then Start... Have Start pressed as it's booting, don't get why so many people mess this up...

of course I tried holding it. only home menu shows up :(

I even tried replacing arm9.bin with arm9loaderhax.bin.

it just wont start chainloader.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

maybe delete config.bin in the luma folder? maybe it was misconfigured

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

do I have to move a luma file into CTR-NAND/rw because bs9 does not recognize my sd card???

I did it using another SD card. now my old card (64gb) will not boot anymore. it just shows a blue blink once and thats it. how to fix this? was working fine on a9lh.

its (your console) not on a9lh anymore so it (your sd card) needs the b9s files the guide tells you to put there

can I proceed the same when I want to update my old menuhax 9.2 emunand system?
No. You'll have to follow the guide from the beginning: https://3ds.hacks.guide/get-started
The process for installing B9S on 9.2 is fairly simple, there are a lot of steps though but most of them are just copying stuff.

already did it by just opening the safeb9sinstaller.3dsx in my emunand and working my way up after the good old a9lh to b9s guide. was basically the same except for the start.
Well, yes, the "finalizing setup" part is always the same, the rest is just getting into SafeB9SInstaller. Glad to know you got it working :)

so there is no difference between installing it in emunand or realnand? I mean: is there a CTRNAND in emunand and a CTRNAND in realnand?
The real is the CTR one, right?

1. You need to update to b9s.
2. You want to update to b9s.
3. You don't need to update to latest official firmware.
4. You can update to latest Official firmware if you want.
5. Merry X-Mas.

Doesn't matter. SafeB9SInstaller is ARM9 homebrew so it runs outside of emuNAND on bare metal and installs to sysNAND regardless.
In most cases you wouldn't be able to run ARM9 homebrew on emuNAND though. You just happened to be on an old enough emuNAND firmware version where ARM9 homebrew still works.
That being said you'll want to ditch emuNAND since it's useless now that you have B9S. Instructions for that can be found here: https://3ds.hacks.guide/move-emunand

even at "uncensored" home releases they still show no nipples with few, rare exceptions
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
It makes it seem cool, that's why smoking

comercials were banned here in the 90s.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
even ecchi manga dont show nipples nowadays
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
I'm reading several that do atm. x'D
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
even it looks cool, i still hate smoking and i always hated smoking
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
    They're seinen though.
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
But yeah, it also has to do with the fact that stuff are more sexualised

    now
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
even at seinen i am reading, the only one that shows nipples sometimes is Oversized Sextet
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
Like, Urusei Yatsura, I love the manga and the original anime.
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
In the original rumiko takahashi works, nudity was common
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
i still havent read the manga. also surprisinly i like both the new and the old anime adaption.
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
Lum being topless and Ranma always topless when turning female wasn't sexual
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
also the old anime adaption of Urusei Yatsura had more fanservice than the manga
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
That's one of the issues I have with ecchi stuff recently, it focuses too much on the sexual aspect, not the comedy effect.
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
The manga had it's fair share.
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
I mean, Lum was supposed to be a one time character
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
ecchi anime focusing too much at fanservice was always a thing
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
Rumiko Takahashi got so much fan email about the character that she brought her back in the manga, it was going to be completely different originally (with the alien of the week type).
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
also i m a takahashi fan and i love ranma
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
There are different ways of fanservice
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
the first manga I bought, was Psychic Academy, when I was like 12?
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
    That was good 2000s ecchi
  • Skelletonike @ Skelletonike:
    Great plot too
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
yikes. psychic academy. it was trash even back then when i bought volume 1. also same author also made one of the manga adaptions of Escaflowne.
