I managed to get enough money for XBOX360 and one game!

Can't wait to pick one up (HDMI Premium, yay) at my local store on Monday. Which game should I get - BioShock, Gears of War or R6 - Vegas?

R6 Vegas is by far my most played game. The online matches are great.
If you're not doing online multiplayer, pick up Gears.
Also, if you've got a store that sells used games, the older Xbox games are cheap and not too damn shabby. I'm enjoying the hell out of Half Life 2 right now, and picked it up for a song.

Yeah, but I have HL2 on my PC. Intend to get the XBOX version of Double Agent though (played the PC version only, I hear it's just as good, though ... and it has co-op!).

What about The Orange Box? Also you have to get gears really for on and offline. RB6 is a great game but imo gears is what you want to see on your 360 first (assuming you haven't played it) and BS is a 1-2 time play, no MP.

According to XBOX.com and some other websites, I should be okay with Double Agent. I really want BioShock, but I have a feeling I'll get through it too quickly. Maybe I should buy R6 and Double Agent now and BioShock + Orange Box in October. Aarrrgh, decisions, decisions ...

I haven't bought it yet ...

And the store assistant told me I'm getting the latest revision of the console with additional cooling and HDMI. And it's a Premium machine. I'm pretty much excited.

Yep, they all work. Check the Backwards Compatibility List for the random shooters.

Gears is to 360 like what Zelda is like to Wii (IN MY OPINION(Puts up flame shield))

So, your first purchase should be Gears.

Meanwhile, pirate R6 for PC and play that until you get the 360 version.
