Yeah, that was awkward. I'm sure the original Japanese voice (Ikue Ōtani) did that scene better. I want to watch the movie subbed because I don't believe the English voices are as passionate as the Japanese ones, having been watching the current Sun/Moon series. I don't know of a subbed version so I'll have to cave in to the dub, I hope it's good.
