Hi, a friend of mine needs his 3ds capture kit repaired, but I'm not really familiar with them. http://i.imgur.com/F2lwv4H.jpg The part where the capture cable plugs in was loose for a long time, and finally just broke off. Would I just have to solder it back to those 6 points, or is it more complicated than that. Anyone have instructions or anything? Advice? Thank you very much!

Yeah, you can just solder it back to the points. be sure not to burn anything though
Thank you so much. Any tips besides use minimal solder and don't touch the board with the hot parts? heh

is that loopy's board? if so get in contact with him. he might still be offering repairs of his boards
It looks like it might be, I found a picture and it seems to match. I'll ask my friend to make sure and then see if he's doing repairs, I think he was active somewhat recently. Thank you!

Edit: In case anyone else finds this thread looking for help, I found an installation guide on loopy's site (I'm perceptive!) http://3dscapture.com/install/

probably be easier to send it to someone US based to do the repair, even if loopy did offer repairs for free then the shipping alone would probably make it more expensive than taking it to a mobile phone repair shop, luckily it looks like it came clean off and didnt rip any pads so shouldnt be too major a job

EDIT: oh actually it seems loopy is US based, must have been katsukity i was thinking of that is based in japan

If you're going to repair it yourself, be sure to get solder paste, aka no clean flux, to make a good connection on all points of soldering. From the look of the solder area, you shouldn't even need to add more solder to it. Just make sure that the pins are securely soldered on with the solder that's already there.
