Hello again and today i finished my "Odin Sphere Hd textures project"
Almost all texturers have been updated probably 99%, but due to sheer ammount of cutscenes and areas I may missed some textures ,so if you find some please report it and send me the save file and location.
I hope you enjoy it

Hello there Plaidray small question. I've seen several threads in the PS VITA lounge for people upgrading their games with new textures. However, I've never actually "done this" before. I saw your google link but I'm too stupid to know what to do with it. (Actually I'm not stupid at all, but I am at a loss so as to how to "update my game on my PS Vita"), and this kind of upgrade with something that is well made like your texture patches upgrade. Sorry for the abysmal question, just hoping you can shed a little light on that subject. IF that subject has been posted before. somewhere on these forums, by all means throw me a line. IF NOT, then I think maybe it would be FANTASTIC if you could maybe make a thread about it? Look dude, I am NOT "CHECKING THE TEETH IN A GIFT-HORSES' MOUTH", I'm just a little out of the hoop.

Thanks again for all of your hard work. It is much appreciated by people who post that, and the others that don't.

This HD textures only work on an Emulator Vita3K ,sadly there is no way to use it on the Vita.
So you need to download the Emulator Vita3K it works on PCs and Smartphones or Steamdeck.
So after you download the Emulator there should be folder called "textures" put the textures in "Import" and click on the option "Import textures " in the Emulator settings.
Once you download the Emulator its super easy to set it up and use it.
But keep in mind you need the game for the textures to work.

Thank you very much for the textures, it looks amazing.
But on my emulator I have a constant problem in the form of a strong drop in FPS, and in the same places.
For example, FPS drops always occur at the beginning of the game, when you need to pick up a book from the floor, right in front of the book.
I don't know what this might be connected with. I even compressed the textures without losing quality; I compressed them for 4 days. Weight decreased by 1gb. There is no way to get even less.
Next, for the experiment, I decided to reduce the resolution by half, the weight of the files was reduced by another 1gb. But the game now has permanent stripes in the same places. That is, there is no need to reduce the resolution.
I tried various settings in the emulator, but it didn't help either.
Are there any specific settings?
Muramasa has a similar situation with FPS drops with textures.
If you play without textures, then everything runs stable at 60 FPS.
My PC 14700k, RTX 4090.
I apologize in advance for my English if anything is unclear.

Hmm Textures should not be too heavy on the FPS,but what may be the problem is where is your emulator located it should be on the main hard drive best on a SSD harddrive ,that could be why its slow I had this problem with another emulator.
If your hardrive is too full or too slow this can happen.
And use Vulkan as Api.

Also the lines are probably the result of reducing the size of the original.

The emulator is located on a Samsung 980 Pro 2tb SSD. Free space 250gb. Vulkan is selected in the emulator settings.
Can you tell me your emulator settings?

Does this actually improve over the PS4 Version, as that one should already be in higher resolution than the Vita version?

Yes it does improve.
But its not that of a big change compared to a PS4 version ,but the textures combined with high resolution like 2k or 4k does look cleaner

It is great, that you improved the game like that. The artwork really deserves it. May I ask which sotware did you use to increase the images and to extract them from the game?
Does the PS2 Version also have a texture pack? Maybe yours can be ported to it? So the game could run in even more environments.. But I guess that would be a lot o work and I realized there is also a PS3 version and I most likely the HD Remake has some improvements over the PS2 version.

Just checked PS4 version compared to regular Vita Version:

Thanks.

There is an option in the Emulator GPU settings "Export textures " its easy :)

No its not possible to convert them to be used for PS2 ,if you want to play the PS2 Version of the game there is an option to choose "Classic Mode" in the game , and my HD textures work with Classic Mode.

Hey, im upscaling a game's texture myself on vita 3K, and as you seem to have done this for various games, I wondered if you could offer me some insight. There seems to be some textures that are endlessly being exported with diferent names. I may upscale and change them and when I play test the area some textures are unchanged and are being exported with other names. Have you encountered such situation? And what did you do if so?

Im working on trails in the sky EVO for context.

Hmm that can happen if the textures are not dumped the right way by the emulator.
The emulator is dumping every new frame ,which can result in 1000s of textures there is nothing you can do about it ,but to upscale every frame which can be way too much.
Are those character or field textures that gets dumped multiple time ?
If that its only one of them you can upscale just one of thoss if both, maybe the game can not be upscaled now and you have to wait for future Update to maybe fix that.
