Strongly disagree, octopath feels very similar to bravely default, which isn't bad but does get rather repetitive IMO. Xenoblade starts off slow (really slow) but it keeps on adding on mechanics to quicken it, even near the end of the game new mechanics are still being introduced and by the end of the game it can get pretty fast paced and hectic. just my thoughts though
Xeno also gets repetitive once you find a good blade-character combination and start doing the Blade Combos every battle. It just takes longer to find out.

To answer OPs question (kinda late) as having played both games already, it all boils down to the following: do you want an old-school experience with epic orchestrated music, charming and incredible pop-up like 2D graphics and fun customizable jobs or an anime adventure with characters NEVER SHUTTING UP in battle constantly screaming with a cool story, great music and over 100 hours of game in the main story alone but a horrible gasha system that feels like a low blow to your wallet?

Do you want retro feeling, 16 bit type JRPG with easy to understand mechanics? Octopath.
Do you want a huge-ass grindfest with common enemy fights that take minutes, a battle system that doesn't even make sense after 50 hours and over-complicated menus? Xenoblade.

It took me 40 hours of gameplay to understand that crap! It's an amazing game but the battle system is somewhat messed up, and the blade leveling is shit, favorite pouch item my ass, couldn't be more boring.

  • x65943 @ x65943:
If your throat closes, putting oxygen in your mouth will not solve anything - as you will be introducing oxygen prior to the area of obstruction
  • JuanMena @ JuanMena:
    Just kiss me Kyle.
  • x65943 @ x65943:
You either need to be intubated to bypass obstruction or create a stoma inferior to the the area of obstruction to survive
  • x65943 @ x65943:
"Just kiss me Kyle." And I thought all the godreborn gay stuff was a smear campaign
