Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent coming to the West in 2022

After being announced nearly three years ago, Square Enix's Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent will be coming stateside to iOS and Android sometime in 2022. The game serves as a prequel to the 2018 JRPG Octopath Traveler, and focuses on several of the NPCs in that game. It retains the same "2D-HD" art style as the original, and a similar turn-based battle system, though it is a free-to-play game with in-app purchases. While no details were given on a release date beyond the year, Square Enix says more info is coming later this month and asks players to watch the official Facebook page.

Can I just vomit all over this? Free-to-play is not anything to be excited about, as it just means being gouged by the revolting monetisation in the in-game store, and the original game was nothing special either; a less-interesting Bravely game with inferior battle mechanics, an art style that clashes with the 3D nature of the game, and a sickening inclusion of modern events with the scholar's story (having to leave town due to being accused of impropriety with a woman, without being able to defend himself; ugh).

It has nothing to do with Nintendo. It is an Android and iOS game by Square Enix based on a franchise that is now multiplatform.
Its and Android and IOS Game that could be ported to Switch and that has happen before multiple times... So my point still stands.
