Hello,

I have a O3ds xl on 4.4 and would like to boot directly into Gateway mode.
Could someone please advise if this is possible?

Cheers Shane

The Gateway "direct boot" is just launching Gateway through Menuhax. You need to update to a FW that supports Menuhax and CFW (9.0-9.2), and follow any guide to setup Menuhax (But you'll use the Gateway 3dsx file, renamed as "boot.3dsx").

argh, I'm in the same situation (but with firmware 4.1), but I'm not sure I want to update to 9.0/9.2... I think at least one of my retail games' saves would stop working. is there really no other way? >_>

edit: ah yeah 4.1 doesn't have the new home menu... shiet

Menuhax uses themes which don't exist below 9.0, so I'm afraid there isn't another way. It is probably possible to keep your saves, hopefully someone will chime in with how to do that.
