Hacking O3DS on 7.2, no browser - how to get a CFW?

You could just get a Sky3DS. Emulate cubic ninja, plus most games too. Then you can upgrade to 9.2 and have this flashcart to fallback on in case anything happens.

Hm your actually right the only one that doesnt require it is oot.to load GW

but unfortunately loading GW via OOT is only for n3ds and the oot3dhax installer to load ninjhax2.0 also freeze loading on 9.0-9.2 o3ds but works on fine on n3ds

Iirc gateway has ROP under 8.x MSET so you could get a cart that has an 8.x update on it and use MSET from there, then using a linked emuNAND install FBI, then boot into sysNAND with gateway and install a browser CIA, then use a browser exploit to load something else

Hi everybody,

I just got a used O3DS XL via eBay and it runs on 7.2.0 but unfortunately without the browser.

What would be the best solution to get a CFW running?

I do have a DSTWO with the last firmware which is compatible with the 3DS firmware 7.2.0.
I also have access to a Gateway card although this is somewhat limited be. AFAIK the card is used on a 4.5.0 3DS and I'm probably not allowed to update the GW card.
I also own a retail copy of OoT3D and a R4 SaveDongle if this may help.

The Gateway card will still work just fine on 4.5.0, and it's likely been updated already anyways, if the owner has been updating their launcher.dat.
Gateway is the easiest way to get a CIA manager installed and to get your emuNAND set up, since you can just load one from the GW cart and use it to install FBI or BigBlueMenu, no messing around with FBI injection etc. Just backup your SD card, load GW menu with go.gateway-3ds.com, format emuNAND, launch Gateway Mode, and use a ROM of FBI or BBM from the GW cart to install either of them to your emuNAND, and that's it for the emuNAND setup. Then you just need to place the rxTools files on your SD card and launch it from rxtools.net/launch
After you have that working you can get onto more complex things like installing themehax.

Oh I apologize, I skimmed the post and must have missed that part.

Even then he will still need the help from someone to create a hacked save file that he can import
Edit: Which I'd be willing to help with, by the way. But there are different revisions of the OoT3D cart, so it will only work if we have the same cart revision.

1) Cartridge update your 7.2.0-0 to 9.0.0-0 / 9.2.0-0
2) Use Ninjhax v2 to boot Pasta Ninjhax2 version
3) Install Sysupdater to upgrade your 9.x.0-0 to 9.2.0-20
Done.

Sorry, it's already "bricked" since no cartridge has 9.0 ~ 9.2 J.

I have the same issue. But what I want is some program like rop installer. To enter the menu GW and so to make my console downgrade to a version 4.x via oot. And normally you are able to install a version 4.x and the rxtool. Note: I have a o3ds with no active browser version 8.x

Damn, well hopefully it'll be reverse engineered soon so all 8.1 users can get out of this dilemma
