David Milch, the guy behind the tv series Deadwood is writing a movie about the popular video game Heavy Rain.

Heavy Rain is apparently being picked up by Warner Bros. Pictures and it is thought that Milch will begin writing the script as soon as he’s finished writing the first season of HBO’s Luck

This is what Bob Shaye had to say about this.

“David Milch’s incredible ability to transform intense and complex storylines into gripping, popular drama makes him the perfect partner for us to have on Heavy Rain."

The game was just an elongated QTE. Would have just been a movie if not for the moral choice thing leading to multiple endings. Movie could be good but I don't hold out much hope

Why is it every little thing has to be turned into a movie? [IMG] They have to draw a line somewhere.

Isn't this totally redundant? The game itself is more of a movie than anything, it's an interactive narrative that broadens on the concept of film.

If anything, this is a step DOWN, don't expect the box office to be as profitable as the actual game!

This should be interesting. A movie on a game that's simulating a movie.

Heavy Rain isn't a video game, its an interactive movie.

David Milch's last production was "John from Cincinatti." Possibly one of the worst TV shows ever made.

I guess he's the perfect choice for this project.

Gonna go with this. There's not much reason making a movie out of very cinematic games. Like they canned a Metal Gear Solid movie and I realized that we don't need one. There's already like a bagillion hours of cutscenes in each game, it's basically a movie with some gameplay in between. Which I don't mind at all.

I liked Heavy Rain story wise but I have bad experiences with games turning into movies.(I don't have to enumerate them, you already know it.)And as everybody was saying, this game is already like an "interactive movie" and that's what I really like about it and I really want it to remain at that.

Wasn't this already posted on IGN Last week?

Anyways I find it kind of stupid that they're adapting this into a film when it already pretty much a film...
What are they going to do? Make everyone in the Cinema press a button and wait for the next scene?
