1. Don't know.
2. No, you need to have the disc in the Xbox.

so even though you downloded the game, you still need the disc in to play it?l

You say that as you are surprised. Of course you have to have the disc in the drive. Microsoft would be shooting theirself in the foot if they let you not have the disc in the drive.

All of the above is correct:

• You only need to download the game to the drive once to play it
• If you delete the game from the drive, you'll have to download it again if you wish to.
• The disc *must* be in the drive for verification. After the initial check when the game's loaded the drive spins down so it doesn't use laser power.

People may wonder what the benefit on using the Hard Drive. So:

1) The DVD Drive makes the 360 work hard which generates heat. When the dvd drive isn't working = less heat = less RROD'S
2) The Hard Drives spins faster than the DVD Drive so that means quicker loading times (but this isn't always the case in Halo 3)
3) Less noise. The DVD drive is the main problem of the noise in the 360. If the DVD Drive isn't on then there is less noise.
4) Less glitchs/pauses. If you open the 360 you'll see the GPU heatsink is UNDER the DVD Drive which is a major fault when it comes to crashes in game. The heat from the GPU affects the underside of the dvd drive. The heatsink is helping but at the same time not helping due to the dvd drive is about to touch the heatsink which gets warm. (This is why people perfer to make the dvd drive external)
