Hacking NTR Boot to fix bricked R4i-Gold

So I was setting up a cart to flash my new 2ds XL when I thought maybe this might be useful on my old bricked R4i Gold 3DS. Sure enough it flashed, and I tried to flash a backup to it. (Found a couple here on the temp) That said, it flashes fine, but still won't show up in my DS units. Any thoughts? Card pictured below.

r4ids.cn... Should have worked. And it doesn't show on your DS unit ?

Is it on NTRboot or reflashed through backup ?

Used NTR boot, then restored the backup. Everything goes through fine, but yea no dice on seeing it in my ds.

Ntrboot flashing disables DS mode so you can't see the icon. This is normal.

btw - look on the back of the card above the rightmost connector pin. What small number appears above the pin?

did it show up before you flashed it?

I have a bricked r4i dual-core 2012 that showed up on the 3ds menu but always white screened on boot. when I flashed it with a working backup from another identical cart the 3ds stopped reading it. Probably having something to do with the ntrboot only working with 2014+ carts for my issue.

Maybe your board is different then the backups you downloaded? keep trying different backups

@zoogie He actually reflashed a R4i backup, so normally the cart should be playing DS roms.

You should be able to restore a backup image. Check plailect's magnet links or

We need to know what version of r4igold you have (that determines what backup to use), hence the second part of my previous post.

Do you have an sd card in the flashcard?
Sure it's not connection issues?

Don't know what else could be the issue.

The backup is reading from the micro sd, but I can try an other I supposse.

You guys are aware they are trying to restore a bricked flashcard right? They aren't just trying to reflash one they used with NTRBootHaX....... I don't think any backups can restore a bricked card to functional.

Yea, going to see if I can use it as an NTR boot card instead. Says it flashed. We'll see.

Worth noting. Again, says it's flashed for NTR boot just fine, but does not work. Oh well, been dead for years.

Update. Just read the review of the new R4i Gold Plus. I tried using the backup in post 3. Card is no longer bricked.

Definitely grateful. That silly cart had been bricked for years.
