install seems much quicker to me as the gain in the download time for the smaller size file outweighs the decompression overhead during install

I have noticed that NSZ files are in the wild. And boy those file sizes are ridiculously small!
Is anyone thinking about re-downloading re-dumping and converting to the newly formatted NSZs to replace their existing NSPs to save space on your hard drive? I am thinking about doing that but it will take some time to go through all the current NSPs to replace. Any thoughts??

P.S. I like to archive just in case you know.
Fixed this for you.

I made the mistake to jump on the train too early.
Only converted a few NSPs and did not delete them afterwards (fortunately) but the conversion tool is still getting better and I would recommend to wait a few months to let it mature before you jump on it. Also keep in mind that NSZs are most likely never getting support by Goldleaf unless blawar would fork it to add that support (lol that would be hilarious :D on the other hand he already forked it ages ago although that means nothing).

However the files are really getting way smaller sometimes. Link's Awakening went from over 6 GB (nsp) to under 3 GB (nsz) which is quite impressive.
Especially if you use the magic combo Google Drive + Tinson + Tinfoil DZ it's pretty convenient. You can kind of build your own legal "HBG Shop" with your own dumps this way which is cool.
