Treeki just released NSMe4, the New Super Mario Bros. Editor. This version is 10x better than the last one. It now has vastly improved its graphics support and has easily navigable menus. Treeki has also built in his amazing file explorer, Nitro Explorer, into NSMe4. This allows for simple extraction/replacement of files within the ROM. Check out the thread here.
