Sorry to report more issues with the Settings again.

Steps to Reproduce
- Delete the "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\MtX" folder
- Delete the "C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Nro2Nsp" folder
- Launch Nro2Nsp
- Click "Settings", then check the "Preset Author" box, enter something in the Author box.
- Save -> Close Nro2Nsp
- Launch Nro2Nsp
- Click "Settings" and then I'm prompted with an "Unhandled exception" error box.

The files in local must remain. It’s what the application natively stores these variables. Settings are first set there then exported. The local directory should not need to be tinkered with. I’ll setup a check tho to avoid crash and provide a message box

I think you're missing the big picture here. My procedure emulates exactly what would happen to a user who has never used Nro2Nsp before. For a new user, those "settings" won't exist, and Nro2Nsp will crash just as I've outlined in my previous post.

Yeah that’s why I’ll change the crash to a message explaining you must load the application once to build the settings then it can be applied the next launch I’m not sure how much I change the application native settings unfortunately but I can look into it

So you're saying the correct procedure would be...

- Launch Nro2Nsp
- Close Nro2Nsp
- Launch Nro2Nsp
- Now Settings can be modified??

If that's the case, then why not just have Nro2Nsp check to see if Settings exist upon startup, and if not then create them?

That’s the plan now, didn’t think about it at first because usually the user launches it first to change the settings but didn’t think about a user transferring the program across different computers. I will look at possibly figuring a different approach but worst case that’s the way it’ll work

This isn't even about "transferring the program across different computers", this will happen to ANY user who downloads Nro2Nsp and runs it on a computer for the first time!

This behavior wasn't in the previous release.

It shouldn’t because you’d first need a exported setting file which requires it to be run once already. Maybe I mixed something up and I’ll double check once I’m home

It doesn't though, that's what I've been trying to tell to you lol. I had a feeling you just weren't picking up on what I was saying. Test it when you get home, you'll see what I'm talking about.

You didn't follow the steps EXACTLY as I outlined above. I tested it on three different OS versions (Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 1709) using VMware Workstation, and it crashed on every single one of them. You won't get the error until you CLOSE Nro2Nsp, relaunch, and then click Settings again.

you mean by deleting local? I tried setting a setting and closing the app and relaunching it but I did change my settings location. I’ll try again shortly

I see what you mean now, sorry just wasn’t quite getting that. Actually appears to be an issue with the setting menu populating the loaded settings and not the application. I’ll take a peak and see what went goofy

It appears your icon has exif data which the switch doesn’t like. It’s supposed to path this data out and I’m unsure why it’s not. I’m currently redoing the conversion process so I’ll take a peek after. What’s the icon you used?

oh dude totally my bad pic was wrong size used the one in the thread here actually but turned out to be wrong size diff pic worked fine!
