No we just think we're superior because we can use the forums search function

In all seriousness. I've had my 3DS a few months, I screwed up a bit but I didn't open a thread for every little thing, I read guides and searched for my answers and now i have a 9.2 3ds xl with a 10.4 emunand that autoboot of ctrboot. Some of you self-entitled noobs want everyone to do the leg work for you
Lol. No one is going to have the same specific question that i have. There are similar threads on this topic of course, but most are from people who have ALREADY BEEN BRICKED. There must be something wrong with you if typing a comment is work for you. This forum is for helping, no? And did anyone say that you have to help?

I speak for every long term member when I say, this noob crap posting has got too much.

Your question isn't unique. Its a rhetorical one, you know the risks, theres many posts about the risks, why do you need some sort of consensus to tell you whether you should take that risk

You just ignored my question. Is this forum not for asking help?

What I'm trying to do is learn from other people's experience who had a SUCCESSFUL downgrade. I'd gladly wait for you to post me a thread answering all my questions i just asked.
You think commenting is work, yet you waste your time commenting multiple times on this thread contributing absolutely nothing. Nice logic.

Kindhearted people above already helped me out out on a great amount of info. Learn to be like them. If you don't want to, you can ignore this thread. Easy.

Apologies if I'm coming across short, just quite a few members, including mods are fed up of these redundant monotonous questions.

But to answer your question, here's one post that answers what you're asking
http://gbatemp.net/threads/whats-th...dater-answer-on-the-poll.410728/#post-5985422

Even has a poll with success results

Alright. So you are saying you'd rather have multiple rants of brick threads then a simple thread asking some simple questions to prevent from being bricked. I guess there is also a rule saying you cannot make this types of threads also. And I also guess it's okay to post some random off-topic memes insulting members?

Edit: Where's the opinions on if I should wait for a better method, under my current situation? I need something AFTER 10.4 came out..

There is nothing after 10.4 came out, anyway I'm done. Was just trying to get you to realise this question has already been asked but if you can tunderstand that, so be it

Aftet getting repetitive soft bricks on my OLD 3DSXl (yes old, i was unlucky), i finally formatted and the first time after making sysupdater work it downgraded properly with no problems.

Of course this was before 10.4 came out. If anyone is scared with the one shot they have:
FORMAT SYSTEM, FORMAT SD CARD, DOUBLE CHECK YOUR DOWNGRADE CIA FILES...
and you should be in the clear.

**thing to note**
If you're using windows, after downloading the needed .rar file, the file could be blocked. Just right click the .rar file and you should have the option to unblock the file and apply it.

There's also a dowgrade checker out there to make sure you dont have a corrupt 9.2 downgrade before you start installing cfw and whatnot.

Thanks, got rid of me worrying about downloading fake/non-working firmware packages.

"just trying to get you to realise this question has already been asked"
So you are making me realize that something is already asked, yet you say there's nothing. -____-

Downgrade worked both times I tried on my O3DS using SysUpdate(I was really frustrated the first time because I couldn't make rxTools work, so I updated to 10.3 xD). Just check the md5 and sha-1 signatures when you download the downgrade .ZIP file.
By the downgrade zip file, you mean the 9.2.0-20U (Full) file right? Should I check it with the link posted above? Not really sure if it's for that though. https://github.com/ihaveamac/downgrade-check/releases

Yes, but I meant the E version, but the same applies to the U version. All files have md5 and sha-1 sigs, you just need to find them. I believe that iso site might have them.

When you find both, download a program that checks md5 and sha-1 sigs on your PC, check if they are the correct ones by comparing the data that the program on your PC shows with the ones posted on that iso site.

To answer your question. No, do not wait. Do it now. Nearly every one of the bricks has been due to the people not following directions and/or using the wrong downgrade files for their system, etc. If you can follow precise step-by-step directions your chance of bricking is very, very low. If you cannot, they are very, very high.

It was super easy for me on my o3DS. I got the downgrade the first shot. I even went one step beyond after updating emuNAND, and installed the 9.2 browser on my 10.3 emuNAND to avoid the nag. :P (So technically, 10.3.0-20U anyone? XD)

I'm not even upset that 10.4 is a thing, the only thing that pisses me off is the forced updating from 10.4 onward.

There won't be a "better method to downgrade", you can hardly make the current one any better. If you're scared of (soft)bricking your console or just want to be on the safe side get your console hardmodded. However there shouldn't be any problems as long as you've got a good SD card and half a brain. I downgraded 5 N3DSXLs on my first try for each (not taking into account the memchunhax2 bootrate).

Oh. Which one do you think is safer as of now? SafeSysUpdater, or the original? I'm asking this because I assume the original sysupdater is more up to date and safe now.

I'd go with SafeSysUpdater, but I used TuxSH's (don't use that one, if you can still find it that is) and julian's releases because they were all that was available at the time (they aren't more up to date or safer than the "Safe" one).

Aight, I have a question about the safesysupdater. In the safesysupdater thread, there seems to be two files (3dsx, cia). I'm a bit new to homebrew, so I don't have much knowledge about them. I'm assuming you put both files in a folder in the 3ds folder? Process seems to be a bit different from the regular Sysupdater with (3dsx, smdh)

I have the downgrade pack 9.2.0U (Full), which I heard I will have to put in the root of my SD card.

Only the .3dsx files are needed in this case. Just put that in your "3ds" folder like you would any other homebrew.

Boot up your 3DS, launch the Homebrew Loader menu, and try to run SafeSysUpdater. Again, just like you would with any other piece of homebrew and it should work fine.

Also, make sure you're positive you have the correct .cia files.

What you do is just get the 3dsx file and just put in in your 3ds folder floating by itself along side your 3ds home brew apps, except this has no folder. The downgrade pack should already be in a folder called updates. That folder goes in the root. I'm doing this right now myself on my second system
