Hacking Now that 10.4 has come out, should i wait?

Should i wait for a better method to downgrade my 10.3 3ds, considering i only get one shot at it? Or is there no point?

Also, what is the success rate of sysupdater now? what's the chance of having a soft brick? Is hard brick still possible with the latest version of sysupdater?

It worked the first time for me, but I can't answer for everyone. As far as I know, it's incredibly hit or miss. Try SafeSysUpdater. It's most likely better than the original.

If you have a fully working brain, and are picky enough to verify a MD5 hash, sysupdater is not likely to fail at all, but yes, try SafeSysUpdater.
People who had it fail were always doing something wrong or got the downloads from weird sites or got corrupted downloads.

If I were you, I'd give it a shot now.

You can't get CFW on 10.3 so if you softbrick and update you're still left with a homebrick. (homebrew brick)
If you downgrade to 9.2 then you get to be part of the 9.2 Master Race.

I would do it. In fact I just did it with my old 2ds as an experiment and I'm officially on 9.2. Checked it and it's official. I used safesysupdater and got the pink pixel error like 5 times then it worked. If I could ask, is there any good all in one site/tutorial to guide me on how to do everything I can do now? There's just so many topics and sites I wonder if there is one good guide most people use.

For all of you that are scared to downgrade because of 10.4. pay someone to do a nand mod for you so you can back up your 10.3 nand just incase of any bricks or accidental updates.

I succesfully downgraded my 3ds, my brothers 3dsxl and my friends 2ds all on the first try using menuhax, if you have the correct updates files and a good sd card the chance are high of a succesfull downgrade, but Im talking about o3ds, n3ds I cant tell you.

I got a successful downgrade at my first try and I used SafeSysUpdate. I would advise you to format you sdcard (using nintendo's recommendations) and also your 3DS System. I have done this before attempting to downgrade and it worked at the first shot. No issues. Of course, I checked de MD5 hash and all stuff that people say to do it.

Aftet getting repetitive soft bricks on my OLD 3DSXl (yes old, i was unlucky), i finally formatted and the first time after making sysupdater work it downgraded properly with no problems.

Of course this was before 10.4 came out. If anyone is scared with the one shot they have:
FORMAT SYSTEM, FORMAT SD CARD, DOUBLE CHECK YOUR DOWNGRADE CIA FILES...
and you should be in the clear.

**thing to note**
If you're using windows, after downloading the needed .rar file, the file could be blocked. Just right click the .rar file and you should have the option to unblock the file and apply it.

There's also a dowgrade checker out there to make sure you dont have a corrupt 9.2 downgrade before you start installing cfw and whatnot.

In all seriousness. I've had my 3DS a few months, I screwed up a bit when i first tried to mod it but I didn't open a thread for every little thing, I read guides and searched for my answers and now i have a 9.2 3ds xl with a 10.4 emunand that autoboots off ctrboot with a 64gb card with over 50 cia installed games, all through reading whats already available.

I've even given away a modded 2ds to people on this site who updated and couldn't mod.

Some of you self-entitled noobs want everyone to do the leg work for you
