I get this message on boot up now as I've installed too many games:

"Not all software could be displayed on the list as there are no empty slots. Please delete any software you are not using via Data Management in System Settings"

Is there any work around to this without deleting any games? I was planning to install every game to HDD.
There is plenty of visible space on the channel list on the home screen as I've put everything away neatly in folders.

there's a max limit of about 300 icons. currently no other way around this.

Damn. What if I split them to multiple hard drives? Or does the system remember the slots?

you can probably do this if you want. but icons will likely lose their positions every time you switch drives.

    OK cool.

Looks like I might have to have one HDD for retail and one for downloadable then. I'll have to live with the messy home screen!

not sure how well it works as I sorted manually. it might be ideal if using multiple hdds and that many games though.

I've used the menu sort program and it works fantastically.
