hello everyone i have psvita 1000 series and im planning to update my Vita to henkaku 3.65 but before that i never used psvimgtools and i want to ask about backuping my vitashell
I installed qcma and psvimgtools-frontend, first i backup vitashell with qcma and then i used for taking cmbackup file, so only i must seve that cmbackup file ?
And if i understand correct i can use it with different accounts, am i right ?
And it has no licence so i can send it to anyone ? I mean i read a lot about losing vitashell so that way can anyone send me vitashell backup ?
My second question is im using sd2vita plugin but it has 2 files, i mean one for Sony card and second for microsd card, but i couldnt find 2 files for 3.65 version, i only see gamesd for microsd card, so Sony card file is same for 3.65 ?

Backups are encrypted to your AID, which is mainly associated with an account but there are exceptions (DEX consoles, for instance)
You don't need psvimgtools to reinstall a backup, only to do some (limited) modifications to them
(One of those possible modifications is creating a MolecularShell "backup" directly on PC, so even if you lose all copies of Vitashell you can still reinstall it)

You can use the StorageMgr driver instead of gamesd/usbmc if you want more storage options, here's the storage_config for official as ux0 and sd2vita as uma0:
MCD=ux0
GCD=uma0

thanks for answer, i wrote about my backup way, so am i doing right ? first backing up with qcma and then using psvimgtools for making molecularshell.cmbackup file ?
right now i am using switch_sd app and it is so simple but i dont know will it work on 3.65 or not, StorageMgr is working with one click simple ?

    @SylverReZ find me ONE community that is free of drama and politics. even video games forums (like this one) have politics section. and for some reason gamers still take consoles/brands wars seriously. even as a kid i never took the console wars bait despite being a nintendo kid.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
    one of the reasons i deleted all my social media accounts, reddit account (although i was rarely using it) etc was to get away from this shit.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Vetusomaru, Sadly, not all communities like to play nice. Forums are pretty much dying despite Discord amongst other social media being available.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
    i only kept my twitter accounts and only because many of the artists i like share their art only/mostly at twitter.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
    lots of discord groups (even the big ones) are also dead for some reason.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Twitter is way too shittier.
  • Vetusomaru @ Vetusomaru:
    that's why i added some firefox addons to block shit like twitter trends.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Discord, on the other hand, moderation tends to not be very nice in video game communities from what I had experienced.
