Hmm, well I'm still having the problem where the game just resets my wii using 249 [56] d2x v6 just as you suggested. Running from an ntfs external drive. Thanks for the help btw.

Because just about everytime you here someone mention PimpMyWii is because they bricked their Wii. Because Priiloader only messes with the System Menu, but PimpMyWii messes with that, BC, MIOS, every single IOS, and channel. Because Priiloader's benefits outweigh it's risks.

We all know you hate Priiloader, and that you hate people not hating it.
The system menu is an integral part of the boot process, therefore any apps that touch it offer the same risk no matter what else they do. And I'm pretty sure you don't really understand what PimpMyWii does at all.
I'm afraid you're the one who's hating here; I wasn't the one slagging off an app for reasons that I can't justify.

Lol, you keep ignoring that PMW messes with way more than the System Menu.

*sigh* ...and now we're back to treating "chance to brick" as a quantifiable value instead of a boolean.
a brick IS a boolean value anyways, but maybe depending on the level of the brick the wii can be recovered from it
Thank you. When there are like 15 opportunities to brick using Brick My Wii, and only one opportunity to brick with Priiloader, you can't say they are the same.

Doesn't anyone know how to read english? I said "chance to brick" meaning the likelihood of your wii becoming completely unusable, I was not referring to "a" brick (and neither were you, so I don't know what you're thanking him for).

One chance for a brick to happen (and since when is priiloader only run once? It runs every time the system menu starts, which is a lot more often than running pimpmywii once. Remember the "system files are corrupt" problem?) is the same as many. Treating these "chances" as rational probabilities and trying to suggest they influence the outcome of each other (as if running the program over and over will eventually cause a brick) is akin to playing russian roulette with your wii - regardless of how good you think your chances are, you're still an idiot for even picking up the gun (and even more of an idiot if you suggest it to other people as a good idea).

How about you list those 15 opportunities, just to prove you're not making shit up?

I picked a random number (thus the "like") when I said 15, but there are more possibilities. I pointed out all the things it messes with here, but you ignored everything but the System Menu.

Let's just agree to disagree, and put an end to this.

ALright folks,

Managed to use modmii without any trouble by following the detailed guide.
One thing I notice is that for my backups on dvd the disc channel now seems to display the artwork but still won't launch the game, I have to use my old backup launcher for that still.

ALso in the homecrew channel I used to have the option to look at the various homebrew apps available and install any ones I fancied. THat option doesn't seem the be there anymore and looks like I'm stuck with the handful of apps like bootmii, configurable usb launcher etc.

INternet connection is fine so I was expecting to be able to install other apps like a media player etc.

Any ideas please?

THanks

SHuggie

Mega noob here, but just a quickie for those in the know...

I modded a friend's (4.3) Wii several months ago using the Smash Brothers exploit. I am wanting to re mod it again using Modmii to bring it bang up to date so i am just wondering do i need to do the Smash stack exploit again ?

If it already has the homebrew channel, then no, just tell ModMii your wii is not a virgin. you can skip that first step in the ModMii guide about installing the homebrew channel and bootmii, and just continue from there.

Ok I have a 3.4U Wii and Modmii installed on my PC. Since I bought the gold wiimote zelda bundle and im planing playing the retail disc. Can anyone tell me what my options are. Do I need to update to 4.3U? Also I tried the syscheck with Modmii and it gives me a guide to update to 4.1U, is it ok to follow that??? Thanks in advance!

4.1U will be fine as long as you follow ModMii to hack it.

I see, can I just install priiloader and disable system updates keeping 3.4U or is it better to just update to what Modmii recommends?

You could keep 3.4, but you wouldn't get the features and bug fixes of 4.1U, such as the ability to run channels from your SD card.
