Good heading for this kind of question !!

I believe the situation is :-

This site can be a “trusted source” for USB loader but you have to install cIOS Vn 10 first.

Forum rules say you are not allowed to post links to any cIOS but “cIOS Installers and the like are permitted, as long as no one bundles one with IOS/cIOS.” Failed miserably looking for the installer on this site but plenty of luck with GOOGLE. So is there a “trusted source” for the installer (as the link to USB loader 1.5 does not include one) or does it do it itself ? If not is there a quick and easy way of checking you have a “good” copy (and are you allowed to tell me within the rules) ?

The installer needs an origional IOS, but I have found several references to games containing it, so a “trusted source” is an origional game (just mount the disk on a PC running the correct flavour of a popular open source OS and copy off the file : Sorry, I am a member of another forum that wont let me post more details outside the members area for similar legal reasons).

Obviously I don’t want to (semi)brick my Wii, so I would appreciate any help within the forum rules you can give me to ensure I have a “good” loader.

Hi,
I got 2 questions:

- I'm on 3.2E (at least my wii says that), but I can go into the Wii shop. Does that mean I did update to 4.0, or is that another update?
No your still on 3.2, you only have the right IOS and other files to make the shop work
- Depends on the answer of the first one : If I am going to update to 4.0, should I delete Starfall from my Wii (and maybe other programs), or can I just let it there?
Starfall doesn't work on 4.0 (get preloader0.29 instead) but other apps should work if you use waninkokos sys menu 4.0 updater

I know the first one is a little stupid, because I should be the one to know if I did the update, but because in the beginning the Wii shop didn't work I did some installs to get it working.

Ok, but should I first uninstall starfall, or can i just begin installing to 4.0?
And what is better anyway, should I stay at 3.2 or should I update to 4.0?
Since preloader 0.29 came out, going to 4.0 is not that dangerous anymore. If you wish to go to 4.0 you have to use the ultimate 4.0 guide that can be found here somewhere. If you do it right, you still have all the homebrew and sym 4.0
If you want to go to 4.0 you have to uninstall starfall first (disable the hacks). And do some research (like the ultmate system menu 4.0
guide)

3.2 is still a bit better for homebrew, but 4.0 is also a good firmware, so its really up to you

Get the cIOS required by the loaders here: http://www.teknoconsolas.es/blogs/waninkoko (scroll down a bit)
optionally you can google for a IOS36-64-v1042.wad for the 'wad installation' of the cIOS36 installer (else choose network installation which requires internet)

two questions:

1. how do i turn a HBC app into its own channel? i.e. so i can run the Mplayer app right from the wii system menu instead of going to HBC first?

2. i'm on version 3.2 or something like that - i haven't updated in over a year. but i need wii points to buy more songs for rock band. but when i try to go to the shopping channel to buy more points i can't start it without updating. so either i need to enable shopping channel, or get wii points some other way. but i don't want to update without knowing how to do it without disabling all my homebrew stuff.

My MGS:TTS multigame iso doesnt work. I can't get passed the Konami logo at the very beginning for both disc 1 and 2. Is this a common problem? How do I fix it? I'm using GCN Backup launcher 2.0.

What's the right IOS? I wouldn't mind getting mine working again.

Ok, I got my homebrew channel installed and all seems fine, but when I launch the channel its blank, nothing in there at all. Anything else I need to do next ?

1. Read what I wrote here: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=148...t&p=1934035
Note that pretty much everything addresswise is hardcoded, though there's an option that if you don't press any buttons, a .conf file will be run and the address in there used. So you can put in whatever you want for an address if you want to run something else.

2. How to fix the Wii Shop w/o updating your FW: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Wii_Shop_and_IOS51_installer (I recommend using HBC friendly package of tona installer also by Matthew_8 (Link_of_Hyrule)'s download)

Since my question sort of got lost, I'll repost it. How did you guys get SSBB dumped? I've tried the USB Loader and Waninkoko's DVD Dumper 1.3 (WiFi and USB). The USB Loader freezes in the middle of dumping, Waninkoko's DVD Dumper doesn't mount the USB and also doesn't send the html file. How did you guys dump a DVD9 copy of SSBB?

Thanks afif95!

I installed the IOS36 and was able to install DVDx succesfully and now I'm able to watch a movie from the SD card. I still can't watch an original or backup movie. I'm using Mplayer. When I select any of the options from a DVD it hangs and I need to reset the Wii. Am I missing something or is there another DVD player I can try?

If you have WiFi, just use cIOS Upgrader and select which firmware you want to upgrade to.

That also happened to me, try loading both discs (press Z on disc two and B on disc one, make sure you press B and not A). That worked for me.

Alright, I'm getting so many conflicting answers about the Gamma 002 fix with Madworld that I don't know what to think at this point.

I'm running a softmodded 3.3 NTSC Wii with IOS249. I have Gamma Backup Launcher v0.3, and I tried running the PAL version of Madworld, but it gave me the infamous green screen. Then I tried putting the 002 fix version of Gamma on my SD card and running it from the HBC, but when I tried to force NTSC I got a purple screen. Which confuses me.

Someone told me that I need to install the new cIOS36 rev8 (or 9? can't remember). Will this write over my IOS249 and screw up my Wii? I don't want to get the new launcher working and find out I can't play backups anymore.

Edit: Update; I installed cIOS36 rev 9 via the wad installer and tried to load Madworld through the Gamma Launcher again (both through it's channel and through HBC). When I let it run without forcing, it runs but I get the black and white falling screen (as per usual). When I force NTSC, I get another purple screen.

Any help?

how do i gain much more memory space on the wii? cause right now, after moving a few wiiwares to my sd, i still got 2 left on the wii but i have no more space on my sd card[2.6 MBs left], so i have like 800 something blocks left on the system. what is there that i can safely delete besides material for hacks and save data?
It's up to you to decide what you think is worth having on your SD card. You should probably just get a new one anyways. A 2GB costs less than $10 now, so they're highly affordable. The Wii also accepts SDHC now, which means you can go up to 8GBs if you want to (and those aren't all that expensive either).
i know, im going to get one soon. my point though is towards the wii's memory. what things can i safely delete so that i can create more room for save data for the long run?
