I was having trouble getting "a" to show up. I only then realized that it only shows up on the day of event which is 2/15. I had already done everything correctly. Simply backing up BCAT and then restoring. I tested it by time traveling with the NRO file and it works and states the correct 1.7.0a version on the day of event.

Updated guide for the mario items:

March 1- (introduced in 2021): Mario Items - Not a real event (NEEDS BCAT FLAG => 1.8.0a)
Super Mario furniture and clothing are special promotional items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the series! See all of the items and how to get them in this guide.
    https://animalcrossingworld.com/gui...-set-furniture-clothing-item-list-how-to-get/

Did you use switch time to set your clock and so on. If you are on a Mac read those instruction too. Again if you follow the guide to the letter it will work.

A general rule for everyone out there having issues and are sure they imported the BCAT files correctly:
    1) Make sure your switch time is set to sync with the servers. Even if you don't have it connected.
    2) Make sure your switch time is at a moment when the event takes place!!! TRIPLE CHECK THIS!!!
    3) If needed use "switchtime" homebrew app to set the time and fake it as being synced with the Nintendo servers.
=> Read the whole guide in opening post for detailed instructions.

Anybody know how to revert back to 1.x.0? Restoring my old saved BCAT failed. For some reason, I can't update to the latest versions. I'm stuck at 1.6.0c. Tried a lot of things (update firmware, uninstall install, redownload nsz). Only thing I can think of now is reverting back to 1.6.0 first.

You won't magically go from 1.6.0c to 1.8.0a by just updating your BCAT file...

    Update the game itself.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I want to go from 1.6.0c back to 1.6.0. For some reason, my game won't update to 1.7.0 or 1.8.0. I'm already at the latest firmware.

Again there is no reason to revert back to 1.6.0. You need to update the game itself! You do this with an update nsp file or through the official server.

This has nothing to do with bcat files or this topic.

If you want to go to 1.8.0 you need to update your game like any other game.

I'm getting placeholder NCA error when updating to 1.7.0 so I thought having a modified BCAT might be the culprit. I tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling and the update always stops at 1.6.0c. i already have the 1.7 and 1.8 update files from a reputable source.

Well this has nothing to do with BCAT files. You can even completely delete the bcat files and it won't do anything outside deactivate certain events.

My advise; either try another nsp installer. Or delete the whole game, install the base game and then install the latest 1.8.0 update.

I used JKSV and deleted all BCAT folders but i'm still at 1.6.0c. Before doing that, I tried restoring the BCAT I saved before I went to "c" but it won't commit to the file. Any other ideas to go back to 1.6.0? I know there's no point to going back but is it still possible?

Yeah import an old bcat file with no events in it, the one you should have backed up if you followed this guide. Or just delete them yourself in notepad and import that. Or download one of the first bcat files that unlocked only the easter bunny in 1.2.0, that should put you back to 1.6.0.

But again all this is pointless and it won't solve your issue. A bcat file does nothing but put a flag to activate events in certain main updates. If the bcat file sees a different main game version it just does nothing. The fact you can't install main game updates has another reason.

I followed all the steps but the letter doesn't show up in the game i don't know if the etag.bin/lis.msgpack/na_required modifies anything in the BCAT folder, i already tried to delete it in the File Mode in JKSV but it doesn't work and i also used switch-time and tesla menu but nothing worked
    I really need help
    PS: I using windows
