hey guys,

i hope you can give me some direction. i just bought a NDS Lite, and I would like to play commercial NDS (and GBA games if possible, but not required) on it. I've read through these forums and the reviews on the main site of different carts, etc, but i honestly dont know what i need to get or what i need to do. basically, im looking for the most cost effective and best solution to fill my needs (mainly to play commercial NDS games). I think from reading that some of these methods require you to flash the DS system itself, personally, i would prefer if there was a method that didnt require this as i wouldnt want to risk any damage. Can someone fill me in on exactly what i need/should buy, as i have absolutely no clue.

I really appreciate any response you guys can give me

search? just a thought. Not actually sure what your question is since it's just a bunch of blah blah blah, but from what I gathered, you want a passme device and a sc lite or something along those lines. Am I close or are you asking for something else?

well, after spending a couple more hours looking, i think i may have the process down. i was looking at getting a supercard lite (which fits in the gba slot?), a superkey which fits in the DS slot, and i guess i need a microSD card as well. was there anything other hardware i would need to buy?

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.

I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
