Is there some kind of external USB Wi-Fi network card device that I could potentially use instead?
For example, Connectify recommends this adapter:

https://www.amazon.com/Rosewill-Wir...ct=true&ref_=as_li_ss_tl&tag=wwwconnectify-20
Would this work given that the network card in my laptop doesn't support a hosted network?
Here's the deal, I already have a USB Wifi connector like that and Connectify detects it and everything, but I keep getting this error that says that Microsoft Hosted Network is not available. For example, look at this post:

I'm just hopelessly lost and I can't figure out why using that USB Wifi connector won't work either.
What he said. You can buy a router that plugs into the Ethernet port and using that router it can transmit a WiFi signal. Why don't you just buy a wireless router and hook it up?
