I'm afraid he isn't very Pro... I guess he messed up your Wii inside, don't be shocked if you see a mess inside when you open it. I think he messed up something with the dvd-drive, so that declares why it won't read discs. (Maybe he did something wrong with the soldering, too much tin or something) I suggest you go back to him personally and ask for a new Wii or that he fixes it 100%!

Do yourself a favour and find an installer to do it for you. If your soldering skills aren't up to scratch you could make things worse.

For the sake of spending another £30 you'll have peace of mind that the jobs been done properly.

There are repair shops in Australia that accept and return delivered Wii's. Canada may also have some. Techsick has a web page and Ozmodchips is a gbatemp member. but it sounds as though you have gotten it working already.

You might want to buy a modchip that has been soldiered onto a clip. This clip hass a rubber cap that fits onto that square prism in the centerand arms with soldier points to the chip. A number of places sell the two soldered together.

Going by your serial number you have a DMS Wii with the legs on the drive pins most likely not cut so you could always use a solderless wiikey (wiikey with wiiclip) as already suggested by Arch Feline
