Give up on Multi-rom support for 2.0, support was kind enough to give me a straight answer that it would be added to a later firmware when I asked them if it was coming in 2.0.

Given the most recent news on 2.0, it was still enough for me to decide to put in my order for the Gateway this week, I was on the fence waiting for multirom, but this was good enough, if they are going to deliver this then I believe them when they say they will also deliver multirom in a later release.

In that case how large of a SD card do I need to play the largest game out?
Are there many of these large games?
What size SD card should I be ordering for my extra games?
Is there any site that lists the size of the games?
How do you guys manage it? Multiple SD cards? Or you're constantly reloading?
Can I order any brand of SD card? Does it have to be a specific brand or minimum speed?

If I wanted to futureproof for when they do release multirom, what'sthe largest size SD card that the Gateway/3DS will be able to recognize? I'm thinking I should buy that in anticipation for multirom and maybe some smaller size ones that will fir most other games.

Just grab a 16 GB micro SD card and you should be fine. :)

You have insufficient posts to view user location.
16GB now so you don't have to ask or do this again in a few years.

In a few years when ROMS start to show up as 8GB files your likely to need a 16GB microSD.

4GB, most games are 1-2 GB and you can trim those over 4GB.

I was thinking more of a 32GB SDHC, found the SanDisk Ultra Flash memory card - 32 GB SDHC UHS-I - Class 10 for only $25 shipped
    https://www.google.com/url?q=http:/...VijJMA&usg=AFQjCNGSI6m20iIZC02rE9KOtZsSa0aKDg

or even 64GB SDXC Class 10 UHS-1 R40 Memory Card for only $35
    http://www.junupetstore.com/sony-64...mory-card-sf64uytqmn?language=en&currency=USD

I'm just not sure if SDXC is compatible with the 3DS?

If the SDXC is not compatible, is the link I gave for the 32GB class 10 good stuff for the Gateway?

The SDXC might be compatible with the Gateway. I've heard of many people getting SDXC cards to work in devices that support SDHC (Wii, PSP, 3DS) by formatting it as FAT32 instead of exFAT. Apparently people have used the Panasonic SD Formatter to achieve this.

Get a 16GB, unless you feel multirom is coming soon (within the year), in which case a 64 or 32GB would probably be best. If it's not coming soon (flash will come down in price), or we find a way to load roms from SD, a 64GB is not worth it.

Has anyone tried partitioning the card with each partition being imaged to the ROM, then just changing the boot partition on the PC? If this works I'd get a 32gb, it means all you'll need to do is out the microsd in your computer, change the primary partition (only takes a couple of clicks) and you'd be done. 32gb is usually around $20 and the best bang for your buck.

You cannot partition it because where the partition table for this would go, there is allready the partition table of the ROM. The ROM is a clone of the entire memory of a game cart and therefor can't be written inside another partition on the microSD.

Yes, GW team told me 32GB should be the limit. But I didn't test, so can't confirm.

    Has anyoine
Really, so 32GB is a limit of the GW? No one had success with 64GB?

2x32GB for $25 each wouldn't be cost effective compared to that $35 SDXC 64GB I posted

Yes what can I say, I'm a pig, I just want a boat load of games on my card, at the same time I don't want to buy a new card in the future as games get bigger.

Has anyone put out a compatibility chart keeping track of what cards are compaitble? I need to order this for 3 x 3DSs, can't screw it up.

SDXC should be compatible as long as you format it to FAT32. But the gateway runs games off the micro SD not SD card.

He didn't, he posted an SD card. You can get a microSD for about $40 though.

Sorry guys, didn't realize I posted a link to a SD 64GB and not microsd, here's a good link and it's still cheap at around $45

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/221299236128?lpid=82

I know some people have said that a 64 should work if formatted fat32, but no one has actually confirmed they did it and it worked, I tried searching the forum and I didn't see it either.
