i see lots of new systems front and center,
but why do the Retro systems dont get as much love?
even the GameBoy Advance, the greatest system
in the history off mankind, has been banished to
the deepest darkest corner of the forum.

i thought GBAtemp stood for Game Boy Advance temp!
now your casting the GBA aside like yesterdays garbage.
the Gameboy Advance still has a lot of life left in the old girl,
the recently released Mother 3 translation proved that.

also, id like to see an Original Gameboy section on here.
the Chiptune music scene is hot right now. itd be nice to
have a place to talk about Chip Tunes, DMG Backlights,
LSDJ, and other Gameboy mods.

i too would like to see a GBA, and a GBC specific sub-forum like for NDS,
i hate how the site's name is GBATemp, but GBA discussions are under "other handhelds"
serioursly?
:glare:

-------------------------------------------------
i was thinking about doing that AGB backlight mod,
but i dont want to damage a AGS-101 for a project.

my backlight GBA SP is in mint condition. and becides the
new sideways K1 GBA is coming out.
that seems like a crime,
why not just get one of those cheap DMG backlight mod kits?

There once was a section just for GBA discussion. Over time less and less people used it, so there was no point keeping it as a main section.
The same thing will soon happen to the NDS once 3DS homebrews start getting released.

Also GBATemp is just a throwback to the old days when the site was a GBA rom site. This has been said many time already in this thread alone.

Professor Abrasive's Drag'n'Derp(tm) is your new friend! The Game Boy cartridge of your dreams has arrived.

Why it’s awesome
Driverless, drag and drop operation
Never mess around with dodgy drivers again! The simple interface makes backing up a breeze. Now you can back up every day!

Ferroelectric RAM
The save data is stored in RAMTRON FRAM, which will retain data for decades with no power. There’s no battery to go flat.
Seriously, the Drag'n'Derp is one of the worst flashcards ever. Still one save at time, and a price tag which is OBSCENE.

Professor Abrasive's in for the cash, and I don't like that. The GB scene is a scene moved by love, not profit. So he can GTFO, imho.

and since we're randomly on the subject, any good GB/GBC flashcart aside from the SmartCard?

Pretty much only the SmartCard. At least you get 2 save slots (one per page). And it costs 1/3 of a Drag'n'Derp.

I seriously hope that nobody's going to buy the D'n'D. It's a project that NEEDS to bomb. Otherwise we'll start to see price hikes everywhere on GB products.

yeah but thats the most recent example i could think of,
it would be nice if people still released GBA Stuff recently
If the Mother Mother 3 translation is the most recent example you can think of, then you have just proven why there is no longer a major demand for GBA/GB/GBC homebrews and translations.

well, honestly i would never buy one because it dosent support multiple roms.
but it uses Ferroelectric RAM so no battery to go dead.
i can see why that would be extremly important for a musician/DJ.

obviously its not for the average person, but the technology
is an important step in the right direction. im glad people are
still innovating.

jesus hadrian i wasent trying to insult anyone,
i made a perfectly innocent suggestion about GB and GBA sub forums.
its perfectly valid considering all the K-1 discussion and new translations.

if you take offence to it, all you have to say is "ppph whatever dude".

and i never even heard about this Retro Review, where is it?
I'm not taking offence, what you say means shit to me because I don't know you personally. I was just pointing out to you and others that you are wrong in that we have pushed the GBA aside, it's hard to keep something relevant when hardly anything of any note happens for it.

You're just another self entitled member who comes in moaning about things without actually offering anything yourself. Most of your threads appear to be "something pisses me off and it must stop".

I remember this thread you did:
http://gbatemp.net/threads/mods-are-gods-and-members-are-insignificant-worms.163208/

You need to chill out.

Oh my... I think it's fine as it is. There's barely anything happening for the oldies nowadays, and if something is happening, or if I want to know something specific about them... I know where to go.
However, this is not an uncommon thing, as a web developer I meet clients every day who wants everything at the front page, and wants everything to be on top!
Thing 1 is important, let that be at the top of the page!
Oh, and Thing 2, it's really important.. so let that be at the top of the page! etc.
