Ok so i know that i am not allowed to link directly to files, especialy WAD's, but are we allowed to do smoething like this?

the file is located on http://www.megauload.com/

file name is : File1 ( please put the name of the file '' File1 '' after the forward slash for the full URL of the file.)

i.e the user would enter http://www.megaupload.com/File1 into his browser??

    Just a thought??

No because you're still telling people how to find the file, which again is against the rules.

Look at it from this point of view, if your INTENTION is to obtain/spread sources for downloading warez - and is conveyed in that manner from your post, you'd be breaking the forum rules.

I also see that you've been warned twice about this, if you wish to stay on the forum I suggest that you think twice before continuing down the line it appears that you're on. If you're looking for warez sources this site isn't for you.

    Something I wonder myself

If I make an installer, that installs all those illegal files, can I link the installer? (I'm guessing its no)

And If No, can we post links to programs that can download illegal files? (So don't actually contain the files)

That's a slightly valid argument as many people on here link to wan's cios installer which installs illegal content on to the Wii...

No to all, anything that gives you direct access to copyrighted material isn't allowed.

Example torrent programs are allowed but not the torrents themselves. So if a program doesn't require you to search for the illegal stuff then its not allowed but if its something where you have to search yourself then its not.

    Is that clear enough? [IMG]

We should really start removing all the installers I guess.

It's hard to tell whether some like an installer would not be allowed. At any rate, it's impossible to check. I could easily modify my batch file R4YSauto to download DS roms if you type some kind of secret phrase, or even starting from a date. However, posting links in parts is not going to fool the moderators.

If you want to distribute something like the GH5 fix, just explain what file people need and how they can get it and try to make it easier to patch cIOS rev14 in.

    I was just wondering it
I'm not planning to make an installer or anything

I'd never post something that could take the site down (on purpose)

So any type of WAD installer cannot be linked? Because Wadmanager can install illegal files yet people still link to it. I'm not trying to go against you, I just want to get it clarified.

    Wad manager is different
It has no options to install wad if there aren't any
    an it can't download them
You still need to search the wad (= illegal part) yourself => allowed

But I was talking about windows Installers...
