I'll add my problem on top.

Basically, when I play a game which can use the 3D, and at random intervals, the 3D effect goes on and off at a very fast speed, hurting the eyes a lot due to the quick change. It's a 3DS XL Pikachu which already had other problems (analog stick broken due to Smash Bros, and fissures on the hinge due to the usual problem these 3DS XL face, problems I can easily settle with change parts when they'll arrive), but it's the only one I can't determine due to not being able to find similar cases on the net.

Is it possible to either solve the problem or to disable completely the 3D effect, considering I don't even use it ?

    Thanks in advance.

You can disable 3D completely using parental controls. The underlying cause of the issue though might be damage to the speaker/3D slider cable or the connector on the mainboard.

My bad, I completely forgot about disabling 3D this way, even though I helped a parent set the parental controls' options last month and noticed the fact you could do it that way. Thanks for reminding me. As for the cause of the issue, I thought about something like that, but I wasn't that sure due to not being very informed about the insides of various 3DS.

Guess my problem is already solved, then. I hope for others to have answers that fast.

Thank you i plan to ise the nN3dsxl without the cammera ribbon plugged , i didnt use the camera anyway and importing the replacement from usa to mexico would be more expensive on the shipping issue than the camera itself. in conclusion , my new 3ds xl works fine without camera , im okay with it , case closed.

thank you all for your help

Apologies for adding to this thread but this has been very useful in a current problem I'm looking at.

I would like to ask if anyone would know what this connector (circled) it on the motherboard of a New Nintendo 3DS XL.

Also, thanks for noting only the backlight connectors and sound are needed to get a working system. I have a system to get working and can look at focusing on these connectors first (need to get a System Transfer started).

I have a repair question. I replaced my bottom LCD and i put it back together and now I cant get the top screen to turn on . Does anyone know the right way to put the ribbons on the right back on properly. I think I keep doing it wrong. Also ive been putting black ribbon in the one that goes on the top of the mother board but it seems to be upside down unlike the rest of the ribbons that the contacts face up. Im not sure if this is right or im just putting in the wrong ribbon on top. ANy assistance would be helpful. I havent played this bad boy in over a year and finally tried to make it work again.

A bit careless with the (dis/re)assembly. Damaged components.
