For us Mod-Chip users could we not just store BCA data on the SDCARD ? and Mod-Chip could just read it from there?

How do USB-loaders currently fix this?
NSMB now works on most usb-loaders. Is that a game-specific hotfix or will it work for all future protected games?

except it took this long for how the protection actually works to make it to the public. The earlier cracks worked, but they merely patched the error to return to the game instead of hanging. This finally fixes the error at the root of the issue.

Still, you're right that they're fighing a losing battle.

Me and my WiiKey v1 are still fighting on here with GeckoOS and that cheat file. ^^

I don't really understand any of it but is it not possible to just remove all traces of BCA off an ISO image?

just add the BCA info to WiiTDB, similarly to how Title information is stored and used in loaders, so it will automatically downloaded when you download a title.

I concur, the NTSC version worked without a BCA patch.

OUTSIDE OF THE DISC! Or else nintendo can check if the data at that offset matches the BCA data, which it does not on retail discs.

Some people suggest we add the BCA data in the header, or end of an IOS image...NO ! ! !
In fact there is a scene release group (ALMoST) that are suggesting we patch the discs

The BCA data NEEDS to be in a small EXTERNAL file and loaders will need to support this, to get the best from "the scene" we NEED to keep things as 1:1 copies whenever possible.

There might need to be a few methods for different loading methods
SoftChip / cIOSCORP - in code or patch iso
Backup Loaders - in code or patch on the fly
USB Loaders - downloadable like covers, cheats, game.txt

is this trying to say that when a game is dumped it doesnt rip with BCA data or something?

so you have to use an original game to find the BCA and then patch it to a ISO file?

thats my interpretation anyways, since he was talking about PPF patching just above that
