End of the quote for now, there's more written in the article.

If it turns bad, there is a slight chance we will be able to see a new Switch hardware revision. Either the displays will be made by a new manufacturer, a new type of display, or perhaps a less than normal quality display? Who knows at this point.

Apple ditching the LCD displays for OLED displays could also mark a change on the fate of the company itself. Given that Nintendo has contracted enough for up to 10 million displays, and if the company bankrupts, we could be seeing an unprecedent lack of Switch hardware sales. Why? It takes a long while to get contracts ready, and production lines working to bring the sales back up to speed. Not just that, manufacturers have to compete with the highest bidders in order to finance itself. Nintendo here is just a drop in a bucket when it comes to who has the highest bids.

Ummm...why don’t they ask Apple for assistance in converting their domestic factories to support the production of OLED displays? Apple does that all the time. Example: forking over billions to a company to ramp up their production of sapphire for upcoming development of the iPhone. Apple would definitely give them the money to help them out. Apple doesn’t want to be as reliant on one company like Samsung for their parts. Which is why they sourced half of their business to LG for the upcoming iPhone 8 displays.
More suppliers is always a good thing. It’s stupid for this company to throw in the towel so easily without leveraging Nintendo and Apple. Both of them would assist them. I mean, look at the Switch. Do you really think Nintendo wants their only screen supplier shutting down production facilities in their first year of production of the Switch? No. Nintendo would pay in advance to keep this supplier financially solvent to avoid the bottleneck in output.

Maybe they really should close after all. They’re being run by absolute idiots.

If this company suddenly started producing OLEDs, then Nintendo might be pushed even more towards that direction. Also, since everyone seems to want OLEDs, another supplier would be beneficial to everyone. Nintendo probably going to stick with plastic screens as long as it can, if not forever. I wonder if Nintendo will move to longer/taller screens, just like phones.
