Nintendo World 2011
3DS Games Playable!
The 3DS launches in Japan on February 26th and yet the public still hasn't had a chance to play anything on it...until now!

Nintendo are holding their own event between 8th to 10th January at the Makuhari Messe convention center and regular members of the public will be able to attend.

Sure those outside of Japan are still waiting for a chance for us to play this before retail release (hopefully the press conference on January 19th will tell us as well as the launch date) at least we'll be able to see lots of footage of the forthcoming games.

Click Spoiler for more details
Playable titles include:

Are the playable games going to be launch titles?
At the moment Nintendo has only mentioned the Japanese launch list:

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS – Nintendo
Nintendogs + Cats – Nintendo
Pilotwings Resort – Nintendo
Pro Baseball Spirits – Konami
Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle – Level 5
Ridge Racer 3D – Namco Bandai
Samurai Warriors Chronicle – Tecmo Koei
Steel Diver – Nintendo
Super Monkey Ball – Sega
Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition – Capcom

Nothing that makes me want to get one on launch day to be honest. I would like to hear more about Pilotwings and I would eventually own OoT 3DS but I wont pay full price for something I've finished countless amounts of times. Steel Diver seems like something that should be a downloadable title but yet again we've not heard much about it. Already got SSF4.

Source of the source is Andriasang, a lot of gaming news from Japan come from that site... More people should visit it.
Hopefully we get nice impressions and videos

I'm pretty sure this list has been proved to be fake.
I don't really remember where I read that though.

Hunh.
Yeah that caught my attention too

Had we heard anything of this safety warning before? (I haven't been paying attention for a while so I would've missed it)

Well 3d has always been bad for "vision development" as it can lead to loss of depth perception etc. etc.

i've spoken to a few testers out on the west coast (in person) who had hands-on with the 3ds. they all talked about headaches, eye ache, and the like from 30-2hrs of gaming time in 3d. these people were young adults age 22-29. i really love 3d stuff but i won't grab one of these systems until its been out for about a year. i want to see how the public does with it and i'd like to wait for some games to come down in price (or sell cheaper on ebay).

and those that do use 3D can just switch it off if they start having head/eye aches. I couldn't care less about the 3D, if i get one it'll be for the games it has.
