We are hearing from our sources that there will be between ten to eleven Nintendo published retail games shown for the Wii U at E3, with the rest of the Wii U games being third party titles. It seems that Nintendo already knows what titles they will be revealing and displaying at E3 even though E3 is still a little less than three months away. Around 70 Wii U games are currently in development from a variety of publishers, and Nintendo will be publishing/releasing four Wii U games of their own before the end of 2012. We’ve been told that Nintendo is considering keeping the price of the Wii U lower than they want to, and they will release a tsunami wave of 3DS and Wii U software this holiday season to soften the blow from hardware losses.

According to our insider source, Nintendo has at least three new franchises in development by various studios for the Wii U. Nintendo has always been under criticism for recycling their existing franchises over and over again, and it seems that Nintendo may have taken some of that criticism to heart. Nintendo had recently published new intellectual properties such as Pandora’s Tower, Xenoblade Chronicles, and The Last Story for the Wii, and then they published Dillon’s Rolling Western, Pushmo, and Freaky Forms for the 3DS. It seems more evident that Nintendo is pushing harder for new franchises and more creativity.
E3 takes place on June 5-7, 2012 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Is Nintendo licensing/publishing or really developing? There is a big difference between the two.. Kinda like saying Alan Wake was made by Microsoft :P

Otherwise, let the competition begin!

I bet one of them is Picmin.

The others will be like Smash Bros, some type of Mario game, some type of Mii game, probably Mario Kart, Zelda, hopefully F-zero!
it says new franchises not revival of old ones...

You know, I can read, so why would you even point out something that ridiculous?

As always, Nintendo will be making new games for their existing franchises. That will never change.

you did bet that one of these new franchises is pikmin and that the others will be sm etc.
your point is invalid here since what you mentioned is part of old ips, you may have meant that they will always make games for their existing franchises but you said that incorrectly, also no need to be rude.

These games have been confirmed by me.
Fact.

shake the baby (motion controlled parenting)
WiiU secret porn collection (only viewable on the controller, the tv displays puppies looking cute)
Credit card collectors (uses NFC to collect your friends card details, share the wealth, share the fun)
Draw WiiU (udraw but good, like photoshop)
Control! (stand on balance board, 2xwiiremotes in hands and hold wiiU screen with elbows... now you are in control)

TBH I wouldn't mind if they would bring back F-Zero...

Also what does franchise mean? These are new kind of games and the consumer will eventually decide whether it'll get to be a franchise. Personally I kinda like that Nintendo has different expirience and they use excisting characters, like in Luigis Mansion, whee the gameplay was compltely original but the setting was borrowed from the Mario-franchise.

This is going top be the best launch ever.

WOW So NIntendo isn't going to revive an old series like F-Zero, Donkey Kong, Pikmin etc.?

Fuck you, Haters. The problem with Nintendo recycling their old franchises is that they weren't franchises that people enjoyed very much. The only expections would be LOZ, SSBB, and MK. (Let me know if I'm missing any)

No one is going to scam me out a Donkey Kong 64 comback. NO ONE.

F-ZERO!!!!!! GAAAAAAAAH!
Seriously I'll buy 3-4 copies if that gets released.
Best music(X), controls(GX), setting(both) in a racing game.
Dinosaurs, cyborgs, aliens, superheroes etc in space racing 2000km/h to heavy metal, hell yeah!

GX was one of the hardest most precise racing games ever made. As long as Nintendo won't collaborate with Sega it'll be fine.
GX was very Segaish (the lazy kind of sega), didn't really fit the game.

Nintendo is working on 10-11 titles and 3+ new IPs.
How does that equate to no more sequels to old franchises
