    Not entirely true.
Nominal voltage for AA battery is 1.5V while that of rechargeable is 1.2V.
Only gears that are designed to be compatible with rechargeable batteries will work - most modern gears including Wiimote are. Other gears especially those that requires more than 2 AA batteries may not work.

I have two of these and I'm happy with them.

You learn something new every day, however for a simple Wii remote, they do just fine. At least for me

Does the wiimote still work while in its charging dock and have a classic controller connected?

Hum, I've never tried that. I'll give it a try and get back to you.

Id only want to buy this if the wiimote still works while its in the charger port with the classic controller connected, this way no need to change batterys or have to charge and wait 90 min to use the wiimote again.
