If you plan to buy Nintendo Point for classic game's you need a good controller.

What I wonder is if Classic Wii Controller will be compatible with GameCube games.
GC controller was very crap and prevented me from playing some games.
I don't really care for classic games since I have the ones I like in PS2/PSP original compilations.

    Thanks for clearing this up.

Lots of sites have mixed this up...

I may get a Wii after all since we won't see the PS3 here for months.

Since when? From everything I've been seeing, when playing in GameCube mode, the Wii controller isn't seen by the system at all, so there would be no way for the Classic Controller to work.

    If you go here
    http://wii.ign.com/launchguide/
and click on the classic controller it states (on numbers 3,6,7) that the classic Wii controller will work with GC games.

GC controller has analogue shoulder buttons, CC has digital. So if you need analogue controls you're a bit screwed.

IGN are the only ones to say that. every single other source who didn't take it from them says they are analog. IGN only hat wiimotes and nunchuks when they made the guide. They didn't know.

If you read the last section of the launch guide they say "requires Gamecube peripherals to function".
The gamecube side can't use ANY of the Wii exclusive hardware such as controllers, WiFi, SD, USB.

ok i was just reading through the wii manual(s) earlier, and i see a picture where the classic controller is connected to teh wand like the chuck!
so does this mean you need the wand sitting there with the classic plugged into it to use? or will the classic plug into a gamecube port or be wireless or something??
    can anyone confirm this?

I read about that before and I really think that it's not the best way but at least it doesn't wire you to the console and makes the release of a wireless classic controller unnecessary.

the wiimote will rest on a table, in a pocket, on your lap etc.
